That makes #2 this season. Lewis, Kubiak, Singletary, and McDaniels are next. It wouldn't shock me to see 8 coaches lose their jobs this year.

I don't know about Kubiak. Frank Bush (the D coordinator), yeah, because somebody has to take the fall, but McNair loves him some Kubiak.

If Lewis hasn't lost his job by now, I assume he has that gig as long as he wants. What's a brutha gotta do to be fired in Cincinnati?

The failings of the system to hit other people harder have nothing to do with that.

Yes it was his own fault that he lost all that money. But the fact is that he didn't get away with a simple slap on the wrist like most celebrities do. He paid for his crimes, literally.

Some pretty good T-Day games. The Patriots vs Lions game started out slow but turned into a barn burner. Branches 79 yard TD is one for the highlight reels.

Saints vs Cowboys started off ugly and then got real entertaining. Kitna looks like he is finally getting the hang of things. Brees looked good going 89 yards in 5 plays on that last TD drive.

Watching Bengals vs Jets now. So far a shitty game. What the hell happened to Palmer? I know he had some issues after his injury a few years ago but he just flat out sucks now. A 43.6 QB rating just before half time? And that includes his TD pass. His rating before the last drive was 15.4. Pathetic

Mike Brown is not known for firing anyone. Mike Brown doesn't care about wins and losses. He keeps the pay roll low and the profit margins high. Least successful owner in the league laughs all the way to the bank.

A few comments from the weekend's games:

Peyton Hillis is a total bad ass.
Peyton Manning isn't quite the same when he gets hit a few times.
Cortland Finnigan is still a douchebag.

Hillis is fun to watch. McDaniels fucked up trading Hillis for Quinn.

Manning was cringing before the hits last night. SD got inside his head and he made a lot of bad throws.

David Garrard looked like he was playing Hot Potato yesterday. That guy would fumble during a father & son game.

The playoff picture is starting to shape up. Monday night's Jets vs Patriots game could end up being for the #1 seed. It will be a shame that one of those teams will have to settle for a wild card while one of those sorry ass AFC South teams will get a home game.

Peyton Hillis is what the Browns thought they were drafting way back when they drafted "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell. My only worry is that an over reliance on Hillis going to shorten his career considerably.

As for the playoff picture, I agree w/ that statement, but I would the NFC West to your list of divisions that should just be banished from the playoffs. It's quite possible the winner of the NFC West will be 7-9.

The NFL should be ashamed for how they handled
the andre johnson vs finnegan fight on Sunday.

The only reason Johnson was not suspended is because his team is playing this Thurs night on NFL Network.
The same network that is owned by the NFL.

Coincidence? I think not.

Since the NFL decided suspending a top player in the league for the upcoming special Thurs night broadcast, there was no chance Finnegan would get
suspended.

Double-standard b.s. from the NFL offices.

Worst part is, the media is not blasting the NFL for this move.
ESPN hardly touched on the matter(except for Wilson on PTI-he shared basically the same opinion i just shared)

Agreed. Total asswipes. No one likes their network anyway. They thought we fans would all clamor for it, but no one has batted an eye. Just wait though, they'll start carrying Wild Card games to force our hands...

I don't blame them at all for not suspending Johnson.

A it's a good business move
B Pretty much every NFL fan besides Finnigans parents enjoyed seeing the little cunt get fucked up on National TV.

One of the leagues classiest guys and best players gets to play Thurs, and one of the leagues biggest Assholes got owned in a fight he provoked.

The NFL took care of their fans this time around, it's a win win.

Where's the double standard? They didn't suspend Seymour either. Don't you have to have them do it to one guy and not another to have a double standard?

25K for a fight while levying 50K for hits that you can't control where the offensive player's head is going to be in a bang bang play is ridiculous. One is intentional and the other can't be proven intentional. They need to lower fines for helmet to helmet hits.

A lot of times the NFL schedule has lousy matchups for the Sunday & Monday night games but this weekend should be excellent:
Sunday night - Pittsburgh @ Baltimore
Monday night - NYJ @ New England

Oakland @ San Diego could be a good one too depending on which Raiders team shows up.

Atlanta @ Tampa should be good too.

Definitely a good move saving more divisional matchups for the last 4-5 weeks of the season.

A couple of haymakers may be an embarassment to the league and the players involved (particularly if you're the guy getting his ass kicked), but neither of those guys was at much risk of spending the rest of his life in a wheel chair over it. The fine amounts are mostly symbolic anyway to guys making that kind of coin. 5 bucks or 2.50? Eh, whatever. Game checks, that's where it hurts.

NFL offices are trying to protect "their precious Thursday night game".
That's the bottom line.

How does Richard Seymour get fined $25k for hitting another player in the face and the same dollar amount is applied to Johnson for throwing multiple blows and ripping the helmet off of another player?

Now that does not make sense at all?

The league is trying to legislate civil behavior into a game that's fucking not civil by design. May as well make it flag or two hand touch.

No argument from me on that. Did you see the DBs pull up on that Vick to the TE touchdown last Sunday? There's the new rules in play. That said, headhunting needed to stop. It's unfortunate that they can't seem to find a way of doing it without taking a lot of the oomph out of the game.

I think you have to take the guy's history as well as the provacation into account. Johnson has been a model citizen his entire career. I understand the argument for a suspension, and I don't think anybody, including Johnson, would have argued with one much, but he's not exactly a diva wideout or a thug. Him and Finnegan do have a history and Finnegan has figured out how to get into Johnson's head, but I'd bet a hundred bucks that it never happens again.

They were talking about this earlier on ESPN and showed some past incidents where guys werent suspended for similiar shit, Deion/Rison fight in 94' no suspension and recently the seymour incident, no suspension, I don't get the big deal eveyone except for a few cunty sports reporters like the outcome.

Just look at how both guys handled the aftermath, Johnson apologized to his fans/city/teammates like the class act he's always been.

Finnigan lied through his teeth and acted like the bitch ass pussy he's always been, Courtney has also had mulitiple warnings this year for the same shit, Johnson hasen't because he's not an instigating little girl, I wish they would've suspended finnigan a game and given Johnson a fucking bonus for smashing that little prick. The NFL's ultimate goal aside from making money is to make the fans happy and most fans love that johnson wasen't suspended, I don't see a problem here.
