This.

In my book, the fights of the year are:
Edgar/Maynard II & the Diaz/Daley fight.

There's some fights coming up that have
Fight of Year written all over them-
Beginning with the Cain/JDS fight. Gotta
Throw Guida vs Henderson in there as well.

The UFC is wrapping up the year in style isnt it.

How do you think the Machida/Jones fight is going to go?

I will go with Munoz as well. Unless Leben lands a lucky shot.
Either way, Leben always brings it so it should be a good fight.
The undercard I could care less about.

Did you read that the only fight UFC on Fox will be showing next week is the
championship fight? Thats lame!
At least show the Henderson/Guida fight as well.
If you want to watch any of the undercard, you gotta do it online.

Jones by TKO/ref stoppage due to unanswered strikes
Hendo is kicking ass and taking names, Shogun just got schooled, so I'm going with Hendo by decision
Lesnar/Ubereem, Ubereem by TKO probably by GNP, I haven't seen anyone give Brock a few good kicks, I expect Alistair will oblige.

UFC on Fox

Velasquez
Guida / Henderson, not sure, but probably Henderson

Pretty sick ass mma rap battle. I thought the black guy won, but the white guy came up with some really clever rhymes, too.

Some could lines

White guy-
"My submissions are Rickson's in direct lineage
even Cecil Peoples can see that Step's winnin this"

"I already know who won between Bowles and Faber,
Hit me up on my mobile pager, I'll let you know the spoilers later"

"Imma end yo life
Bisping circlin into a Hendo right
soft shot to his bald spot
jaws drop, ya'll shocked
Kimbo Slice, my elbows nice like Kenflo, right?"

"Hands are explosive
Your punches land on deaf ears like Matt Hammil's opponents"

Black guy-
"Hit up your manager at work when I'm at your job snoopin
he said hit him with a liver shot, even your boss rootin (Bas Rutten)'"

"It's a heavyweight vs. a lightweight, and the lightweight sucks
Hey yo Step, IT'S TIME!..... to step your fight game up."

"You picture Dan's Hardy and let out a slow moan
You wanna rumble with Anthony's Johnson, Band Ludwig and Bone Jones
You used to love Lesnar, and you swore he the best
til you found out that was a tattoo of a sword on his chest"

"Tired of these phony lookin poser kids
yellin Roc nation when they don't know who Jova is
You don't need Helwani's nose to know what the aroma is
the next person that throws up a triangle gettin powerbombed like Arona did"

Ahhh, what a fight! Damn, Hendo nailed him with some bombs! Those 4th & 5th rounds when Rua came back were something as well. I thought the ref did a good job of NOT stopping the fight when both Hendo & Rua were in serious trouble at different times.
Could you imagine if they put this fight on Fox last week? Wow!

Happy for the Axe Murderer. Another asian fighter that doesnt live up to the hype.

Didnt know the California Kid had that kind of killer instincts in him. Once he hurt the guy, he destroyed him!

Good to see Bonner get a win. That fight was a sloppier version of what Sonnen did to Stann a couple fights back.

Who cares that Ryan Bader got back on the winning track. They put him against a stiff. Who cares!

Best fight ever? I honestly think so.

Seriously, I thought the first three were 10-9 Hendo, 4th round 10-9 Shogun, and last round 10-8 Shogun, resulting in a draw.

Shogun's chin has to be the best I have ever seen...those hendo shots are no joke...

His gameplans on the other hand are ridiculous, we all seen how much better results these chuteboxe guys can have when implement a more conservative aproach (shogun-machida, wanderlei-bispin etc) but they always end up going back to full brawl mode...well I guess it does provide for a more fun fight.

I thought it was a draw too. If it was a championship fight I'm sure there would be an immediate rematch.

Anyway great fight, both great finishers with fantastic chins, kind of nullified each other.

The best fight ever should end with a submission or a KO but round 1 - 4 were amazing. I had Henderson as clear winner.

Same here. I didnt think rd. 5 was a 10-8 rd. for Shogun. Yeah, he was on top the entire round, full mount, but he wasnt doing any damage, Hendo was defending, and it was never close to being stopped. If thats the case, rd. 3 wouldve been a 10-8 for Hendo when he was trying to end the fight. Under normal conditions the ref would've stopped the fight, but the ref didnt. Either way it was a great fight.
The sucky thing was I could never get a clean link. The entire night I was constantly bouncing from one link to another, too many lagging.

I had to be up at 3am this morning for work. So, I couldn't stay up to watch the PPV on Saturday. Man, what a fucking fight! Bonnar vs. Griffin has been trumped as the best fight in UFC history!! I though the decision was spot on. Also, I'm so glad Rosenthaugh, or however the fuck you spell it, didn't stop the fight when Shogun got hurt early. A newer ref probably would have stopped it. For main event bouts, give me Big John, Herb Dean, or Rosenthaugh. Anybody else in there makes me nervous!

Looking forward to Faber/Cruz 3.

I had to do that too this time, no cable at me new place. So I watched two links, one in English with Rogan and Goldy, and one that was 5 mins behind, in perfect HD, but with Spanish commentary. Had them on at the same time.

It was the first time in quite some time where I had to bounce from link to link. Usually I find a good one, and stay with it. I wish I could go ahead be legit & buy the ppvs, but financially strapped big time now.

Does anyone else agree with me & think 139 was by far the best night of fights this year? It had everything one could want- knockouts, submissions, ground & pound, two warriors giving it their all. Overall, just a great night!
There were a number of times I laughed out loud listening to Joe Rogan & his excitement.

I completely disagree. Some of the greatest fights were decisions. A ko or a sub is cool and all, but I'd rather see two evenly matched fighters throw everything they have at each other and not knock each other out.

Excellent fights that were decisions-
Cro Cop/Fedor
Nog/Fedor
Nog/Couture
Shogun/Hendo
Shogun/Machida 1
Faber/Cruz 2
Cruz/Mighty Mouse
Edgar/Maynard 2
Diaz/Penn
Griffin/Bonnar
Marquardt/Sonnen
Guida/Bendo
Bendo/Pettis
Bendo/Miller
Aldo/Hominick
Garcia/Pham 2

I'm good with knockouts, submissions, going the distance etc etc. I just want to see two fighters going at it regardless of how it ends. My problem is when a fight is only 3 rounds. The Guida/Henderson fight is the perfect example of a fight that should've been a 5 rounder.
The Cain/JDS fight was an ultimate fail because it barely lasted a minute.

Rumors are sonnen/munoz and sanchez/ellenberger for UFC on FOX 2

Two really sick fights.

However Munoz Sonnen isnt exactly fox friendly. Two wrestling based fighters

I dont know about that. Both fighters are very entertaining and always bring it. And the winner will fight Anderson Silva, so there's alot going on to make sure it will be a great fight. Besides, Fox/ufc want to highlight the phillipino angle that Munoz brings.

Not to mention if Sonnen wins he will call out Silva a second time, this time on national television. The PPV that they put that on will break records.
