Stann would be a good fight, but Joe Silva doesn't like matching up winners with losers, so I don't see it happening, especially because Bisping is supposedly one fight away from fighting Silva. If Stann won they'd lose a #1 contender, and the list of people that can hope to challenge Silva for the title and have a prayer of winning is very slim. I think they'll match him with the Johnson/Belfort winner. I've heard rumors that the Munoz/Sonnen fight is off, in that case I'd like to see him fight Sonnen in a title eliminator.

I wouldn't call him top 5 even. Maybe 9 or 10. I see him getting demolished by a lot of middleweights, like maia, munoz, sonnen, belcher, okami, belfort, rumble (if he stays at mw), and palhares. I think Le and Wanderlei would have a good chance of beating him as well.

Wanderlei already did, even with a shot chin he was able to charge against Bisping's girly punches in the end of rounds. I agree with all the other guys you mentioned, Bisping loses against all of them.

About that list- the only fighters on that list that are for sure winners are Sonnen & Munoz. Everybody else might win, but more than likely not. Belfort is on the downside of his career. So what that he knocked out that jap guy.
Of course I dont mention Anderson Silva because the only other fighter that I think can beat Silva is Sonnen. Everybody else, not a chance.

There is NO WAY Belfort loses to Bisping. First round ko.

All the others are more likely to win than not imo. Seriously, Bisping is a good technical striker and all (not great) with good cardio but lacks power. Who has he ever defeated that was top 5?

It's a bit of a tossup, I could see either winning, but I'll go with Jones just because he's had pretty much the best year of anyone in the MMA, already beating a top LHW contender (at the time) in Bader, and two former LHW champs. If he finishes Machida that's three former champs that he finished in one year.


In other news, the Welterweight title picture is pushed back YET AGAIN because GSP blew out his ACL and is out for 10 months. Now, Diaz is fighting Condit for the interim title on on superbowl weekend.

Excellent night of fights tonight. First time I've seen the medics in the octagon twice in a night. Watching Nog's arm pop in slow-mo was brutal. Hard to believe Mir got to that point after looking fat and slow like he did.
