The NFL does split up revenue, that's why they thrive. It's not what MLB does. The Yankees TV revenue alone is more than some teams entire annual revenue and they don't share it. There is a paltry luxury tax on big spending teams, but it's a drop in the bucket. The MLB system sucks.
In football they now split 90% of the revenues and keep the other 10% for themselves as opposed to baseball where the teams keep most of the money and the big market teams pay a small luxury tax that goes to the bottom teams.

How about another Polian rule change. The standings are inverted this year, meaning the teams with the most losses get in. 2-14 ought to be good for home advantage. The rule change takes effect on January 1st.
How about another Belichick rule change. During the playoffs, teams are now allowed to video tape their opponents' pre game walkthroughs, team meetings, and all other team events that are meant to be "private." They can then use that information to their benefit to win a Super Bowl. The rule change takes effect on January 1st.

Also, you can now break any existing rule, as long as you insist that you merely "misinterpreted" the rule.

Yet the OP was referencing an "alleged" rule change that took place in 2004, and you apparently have no problem with that.

Not to mention, an actual rule change never occurred.

I'm hoping Brees and Payton don't get too pride-happy with their record on Sunday. But if Cam Newton brings the fire, I hope they don't bench Drew in the second half. Not against a division rival that will probably be much better next year.

And if I've said it once, I'll say it a million times...Where the fuck is CantstoptheridingTebow'snutsack?

Seriously. Nobody has come from nowhere, commenced to giving someone such a thorough nutriding, and then suddenly vanished faster than Cantstop did with Tebow. It was astonishing.

I'm still wearing my Saints shirt at the gig. Fuck 'em! I tolerated losing to the Seahawks last year. By your logic they are going to lose the wild card, at least give them a divisional man.

Done deal! Can I make my own Tebow shirt? I really don't have money to throw down on a jersey.

(and I like Tebow, so this is totally fine with me)

Rapistberger is going to play against Cleveland on Sunday. If Pittsburgh wins and he doesn't further injure himself and they somehow end up with a 1st or 2nd seed so he gets a bye week it's a good move. But if he gets an additional injury playing against a team with nothing to lose and they still end up with the 5th seed this could end up costing them.

Do you think they should let him play, especially when Batch can give them enough to beat Cleveland?

Isn't Charlie Batch like 90 years old now? Ah, he's only 37. Why does it seem like he has been in the league as long as Mark Brunell?

I could see it happening if they get the Lions, and Suh knocks Brees out of the game. Otherwise, no.

The risk is far too great.
Let the man rest and allow the #2 QB to play some and maybe get a win.
Most teams want a healthy QB in the playoffs, not in the regular season finale. Especially when that team has already clinched a playoff birth.

In the Saints case, they seem to be taking the Carolina game pretty seriously even though it's a longshot San Fran loses and we get to move up. Fuck I saw Brees doing press for the damn thing.

Bill Belichick offers some insight into Tom Brady's shoulder injury:

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked about quarterback Tom Brady's injury status during his Friday news conference, the questions coming at two different times.

Here is the Q&A:

Reporter: Do you anticipate Tom being able to practice today?

Belichick: We'll list his status at the end of practice.

Reporter: What was he able to do yesterday?

Belichick: Play quarterback.

Reporter: So he did practice?

Belichick: He did, just the way we listed him [on the participation report as limited]. It's what we do after every practice.

Reporter: So he wasn't injured during the week? He was listed as not practicing Wednesday because of non-injury related reasons.

Belichick: I think we've covered that. I think we've already talked about that.

Reporter: So it was a planned day off?

Belichick: We've covered it. It's all been covered.

Reporter: Circling back to Brady, what is your level of confidence that he'll be able to play at a high level with this recent injury?

Belichick: Anybody we put out on the field, I have confidence in or we wouldn't put him out there. So if they're out there, we have confidence in him. If they're not out there, there is either another player ahead of him or we're not confident they can go out there and do it [health-wise]. It's as simple as that. We're not going to put anybody out there on the field that we don't have confidence in."

Reporter: What is your confidence level in Tom this week?

Belichick: If he's not out there, it won't be because we don't have confidence in him [from a playing perspective]. Whatever it is [injury-wise], we'll list it as accurately as we can based on the information we have, which is what we always do. Sometimes that information changes, obviously, and we'll do the best we can with the information we have, like we always do. It's no different than anything else."

Of course Brady will play on Sunday. It's against the Bills, he is only 103 yards away from 5000, and they have a chance to get the #1 seed. Not to mention the fact that backup QB Hoyer couldn't beat a Pop Warner team. Belichick doesn't even trust Hoyer to take the kneel downs at the end of a game with a 17 point lead. Brady is playing.

Maybe I should have put the sarcasm function on when I said that Belichick was offering some insight...
