Used to love going to see The Phantoms in Philly and was present when they won The Calder Cup in 1998. Definitely miss 'em here in Philly (along with The Spectrum)

make sure it's a game against the Mooseheads that you take your kid to.Mackinnon has got great skill,but it's his awareness that really impresses me.I'm located centrally between Moncton,Saint John and Acadie-Bathurst and saw him quite abit last year and twice this year already.

Yup, MacKinnon was on my wish list for this year, as well as Huberdeau and Grigorenko while they're still in the Q. Habs also drafted a kid from Chicoutimi, Hudon, who's touted as a future Danny Briere type, and I want to get a look at him.

The Hamilton Bulldogs are going to be playing a couple of games at the Bell Centre, and I'm looking forward to seeing Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi, Brendan Gallagher, and a lot of the other good young talent the Habs are assmbling.

Fuck the NHL right now as far as I'm concerned. I'm having fun coaching my son's Novice team, and reconnecting with grassroots hockey.

Huberdeauu and Beaulieu. Add Coyle and a few others to the mix and it was quite the treat to see the Sea Dogs in action the last few years.As long as Huberdeau is around they'll still be competitive most nights- but having been to a couple games already this year,it's painfully obvious their salad days are over and the rebuilding stage has begun-such is the cycle in Junior Hockey.

Just got home from the Chicago Wolves game. They blew a 5-2 lead in the 3rd period but scored late to win 6-5. Small crowd, especially for a Saturday (5,100 people there). Sloppy game, but a fun time.

None. They're still part of the players union and I don't think they're allowed to play with another hockey team unless it's a national team that they're already contracted with.

This effin' strike is killing Columbus. I was at the arena for Journey a few weeks ago and the staffers there were still optimistic. For many of the workers, it's their only job. For many others it's a large portion of their income. Last night before Megadeth (at a concert venue next door to Nationwide) we were walking around and all the restaurants that have huge lines in the waiting areas and generally need a reservation to even gain entry (Rodizio, Ted Turners, Buca, etc.) were sitting empty. Begging for people to come in and closing up hours earlier than they would during a hockey season. A couple of the taverns went belly up during the last strike and it seems another 2-3 won't survive this strike.

Went to an Aeros game tonight and had a blast. The game was tied 2-2 and went to the extra period and Aeros scored in the first 5 seconds. All the in between periods minor league stuff is entertaining as hell. That was my first hockey game. I enjoyed it. I'll go again.
