Dodgers throwing around a ton of money. I have a feeling they're going to be a very expensive train wreck. NYY West.

Just because Hamilton is seeking a 7 year deal does not mean he's going to get one.killeverything wrote:Machado wrote:Sources close to the Yankees are stating the team is

Imagine that swing in The Bronx over the next 3-4 years?![]()
3 to 4 years? He's seeking a 7 year deal and considering he hasn't played in 150 games since 2008, he'd just sit on the DL with Arod most of his contract.
That would be fucking funny.
Even the Rangers are very hesitant to give him 7 years.
Hamilton needs to realize he does not have leverage due to his past addictions and off the field problems, so why not settle on a 3 year deal in NY and play pepper with a short right field porch.
Hamilton can play LF or RF
Gardner can play CF and if the rumors are true, Granderson will be traded.

What aren't you getting? Hamilton is a premier free agent. Argueabley THE top free agent and the top player in baseball. He won't have to take a three year deal, even if it's to maybe get to "play for the Yankees! *slobber*"Machado wrote:Just because Hamilton is seeking a 7 year deal does not mean he's going to get one.killeverything wrote:Machado wrote:Sources close to the Yankees are stating the team is

He'll pull a Cliff Lee and sign somewhere else.

Holy shit. Tampa really did trade Big Game James. Didn't think that was going to actually happen. David Price credits Shields' inspiration for helping him achieve the Cy Young this year. He also spoke about a sign on Shields' locker that says: "If you don't like it pitch better." Cool.

Well the kid Wil Myers is supposed to be "a sure thing", "can't miss prospect".
No 3 rated prospect
James Shields and Wade Davis, along with a player to be named, were traded to the Royals for highly-regarded outfielder Wil Myers, right-hander Jake Odorizzi, left-hander Mike Montgomery and third baseman Patrick Leonard.

Everyone in baseball is high from Bryce Harper and Mike Trout ( the real MVP )'s historic seasons. I'm not surprised to see something like this happen, especially with Tampa Bay who practically grew their team.Machado wrote:killeverything wrote:Holy shit. Tampa really did trade Big Game James. It's the Expos all over again. Trade the young stars, who are about to become arbitration or free agency eligible, for even younger, up-and-coming stars, and try and catch lightning in a bottle. If first treatment doesn't work, wash, rinse, repeat, repeat, repeat...Machado wrote:Kansas City and Tampa Bay have agreed to a trade that will send pitchers James Shields and Wade Davis from the Rays to the Royals for top prospect Wil Myers

Almost worked in 1994. Good luck Rays.

That's just the reality in Tampa, Wolf. They had started to deplete their farm system so they are really focused on that rebuilding effort while still trying to compete in the AL East. It sux to see both of them go, but as a Rays fan, I knew it was coming. I am just glad Hellickson wasn't a part of the trade. Like I said earlier, I do like the moves that they have made so far and while no up and comer is a sure thing (see BJ Upton), this was a good way to fill an outfield hole with a player who has some pop. They say he won't start the year in the bigs but I bet by the 3rd week, he'll be at the trop.

Angels get Josh Hamilton for five years, $125 million. Way too much but fuck yeah, suck it Texas! This opens the door to trade Trumbo or Pujols for a starting pitcher (Dickey? And hopefully it's Trumbo).
Man, a 3-4-5 of Pujols-Hamilton-Morales sounds pretty sick. I'm not thinking about the future, I'm just enjoying this now.

Hell, I'd even put Aybar leading off and Trout #2 ahead of Pujols.Facedown wrote:Dayum. Sick indeed.
Hmm, on second thought...maybe not. Aybar at #2 will result in fewer GIDP than Trout ahead of Pujols.

I was told money was tight but I guess the Arte had money hidden under a Mattress. Business is business but don’t lie.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Lucchino's stink is all over this. They are being forced to try to appease the pink hats and can't level with fans that they are in a rebuilding mode. The Sox will not be truly competitive for another 2-3 years until the kids on the farm are ready to make an impact. Then they can go and reload with a few free agents. The biggest problem is pitching. They traded the pitching prospects they had been developing, there aren't any more ready to step up, and the free agent market is really thin for pitchers now. That and there is now more teams competing for good free agent pitchers when they become available. I really wish they would have admitted this and saved their money for when they were ready to re-load again. Fuck the pink hats.killeverything wrote:I can't wrap my head around that. I wouldn't even blame the pink hats or appeasing them. Henry gives a fuck about his soccer team now. That's where the money is. Lucchino is the one who traded Beckett, Gonzalez and Crawford. LA called him, not gentle Ben.SkyDog112046 wrote: Lucchino's stink is all over this. Epstein's legacy left them in fourth place which is where they'll remain.
Soccer. Unreal.

Blue Jays are all in.Facedown wrote:Dickey to Blue jays.
They are putting 150% towards making their team better(on paper) and giving the AL East a new team to look at.
Let's face it, there have been seasons where the Blue Jays were at or near the top of the standing in April, May or June, but eventually the teams fades away and settles into the middle of the pack.
I expect more of the same.
Last year the surprise AL East team was the O's and that forced the Red Sox into the middle of the pack.
I still expect the O's to be better than the Blue Jays in 2013
