The more I look into this ESPN QBR, the more I'm convinced it's a very important stat!

I remember someone saying that RG3 takes "too many sacks."

But RG3 is ranked 14 on ESPN's Sack EPA.

Andrew Leaf is an astoundingly low 25!!!!

So I guess Leaf needs to work on taking those sacks - like the beatings he suffered today at the hands of the Division Champion Texans.

Andrew Leaf is currently #11.

NUMBER 11!!!

Out of the top ten. How low will he go?

Very troubling.

This is an important stat.

Meanwhile, RG3 is #5, and Russel Wilson is #7.

Well, at least Leaf is having a better rookie year than Weeden.

Total QBR is an important stat.

The only failure here is Andrew Leaf.

A new sig is already being prepared.

Well, the weekend's final tally is in.

And Andrew Leaf has plummeted - like a disco act on the charts in 1980 - all the way to number 12.

NUMBER 12!!!

12 Andrew Leaf, IND

http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr

This has got to be very troubling for any Colts fan, or people who harbor the ridiculous notion that somehow a guy rated below Russel Wilson and leading the league in INTs is gonna win rookie of the year.

How much lower will Andrew Leaf fall in this important stat?

Now everybody who knows me knows the respect I have for ESPN's Total QBR rating.

QB rating is an antiquated stat and means nothing. It was developed in the 70s and isn't that relevant to today's game. I'd rather look at ESPN's total QBR, which takes into account far more information than the basic passer rating. Clearly, it is an important stat.

And Andrew Leaf has plummeted ALL THE WAY TO number 13!

THIRTEEN!!!!

His ranking has been in a freefall the entire season, and continues to drop literally every week.

6 Robert Griffin III, WSH 71.7
8 Russell Wilson, SEA 70.0

a whole bunch of other guys

13 Andrew Luck, IND 64.4

Behind Tony Romo.

TONY ROMO.

Really pathetic. That's probably why Leaf is running a distant third place in all of the Rookie of the Year talk, behind RG3 and Wilson.

All of those INTs - he's leading the league you know - have taken their toll on Golden Boy's reputation. You just can't turn the ball over that much in the NFL and expect to have any kind of lasting success.

Andrew Leaf = #11 QBR Total Quarterback Rating in NFL!!

That's probably why he isn't in the Pro Bowl.

Congrats to RG3, the highest rated rookie in the NFL!!

#6.

NUMBER 6!!!!

It's an important stat. Thanks to Gregg for bringing this rating to our attention.

23 TDs
18 INTs
9 Fumbles
54.1% Comp
6.98 AVG
76.5 RAT

Luck had more INTs and fumbles than touchdowns. He had 5 multiple INT games. He threw at least one interception in 10 of 16 games. The only road games he had without a pick were against a shitty KC team and a tanking Houston team.

Love how you deliberately leave out his yardage and game winning drives. Kind of like a guy who says he's a body builder, but leaves out the fact that he's fat and has a huge gut.

Last year Cam Newton was a "rookie sensation," easily won rookie of the year, and had what many consider the best ever season for a rookie QB. This year Andrew Luck threw for more yards than Newton did last year(rookie record,) threw just one pick more, and tied an NFL record for the most game winning drives in a season. That's the rookie of the year.

And RG3 and Wilson have both turned in Rookie seasons that rival and even surpass Newtons, I love how You bring up him leaving out the not too impressive Yardage but You're constantly in denial about Lucks horrible INT's and pass %. You'd've been onto something if Luck was more effcient and actually could spot his recievers better than the oppositions. He's not winning it He blew his chances When He went turnover crazy.

RGTebow final game stats:

9/18 100 Yards 0 TD

DTMFS and Levy: "That's efficient!"

RGTebow throws for over 1,000 yards LESS than Cam Newton 2011 and fewer TDs.

DTMFS and Levy: "RGTebow surpassed Cam's performance."

So you want to base the award on one game?? Sweet, Lets look a little harder at Andrew George and his 5 INT performence against the pats.

I am pointing out why Luck shouldn't get the Rookie of the Year award. Yardage doesn't mean squat here - he would have had to have set the overall yardage record for it to make up for the rest of his stats. Cut his picks in half and then he probably gets it, but when a QB turns over the ball 27 times he isn't worthy of any award.

Yeah, I'll admit it wasn't his best game. Some of his passes were not as sharp as usual, and there were a couple of drops.

But to pretend that he had a bad game and that the Skins won "in spite" of him is ridiculous. If you say that, you haven't seen the game, or you are just trolling.

What the stats don't show is that RG3 threw several clutch third-down passes to keep key drives - and the clock - moving. And he ran for 60 yards at 10 yards per carry. That's huge. A rushing TD is just as good as a passing TD.

Morris had an amazing day, but those drives weren't just all him. The stats don't show how effective RG3 was at confusing the defense, particularly Ware, to open those running lanes. The play action and read option continues to destroy NFL defenses, and NFL defensive coaches.

The Redskins beat Dallas into submission with the run, which was the game plan. But Morris couldn't have carried the team without RG3 running the show.

The game was another chapter in the legend that RG3's rookie season has become. People will be talking about this shit for years. He's putting together the best rookie season ever for a QB.

Only an idiot would make fun of RG3's stats, and you won't find a credible member of the media who agrees with Gregg's review of RG3's performance leading the Redskins to the NFC East title.

So, congrats to Andrew Leaf...for the first time in what seems like AGES, he did NOT plunge further in the Total QBR rankings.

In fact, he somehow managed to claw himself all the way back to #11!!! Now, that isn't quite the top 10, but it's a valiant effort from a turnover machine who seemed destined to finish in the bottom 10. And hey, he just barely beat out Tony Romo! So he's got that going for him.

Meanwhile, RG3 is sitting pretty at #6, where he's been all year. Highest Total QBR of any rookie QB.

I want to thank Gregg for introducing me to Total QBR. I had no idea it existed! But now, seeing it in action and how it truly and accurately evaluates the worth of a QB, I can see what Gregg was trying to tell me all season long (or at least the first 3 games before Andrew Leaf started to plummet in the rankings and he suddenly stopped mentioning it).

Truly, and surely, it is an important stat.
