That's fair and I know he has to get his at bats in and get his timing back before drawing any conclusions. He was down in extended spring training for a bit prior to going to the minors though I know thats a bit different than the real deal. Basically, I'm just hating on him though I seriously don't have any expectation of production from him.Machado wrote: IMO, this is a spring training for ARod. Who can expect any results in the first 20 at bats. Typical for a regular to not be very concerned with the first 20 at bats during ST. A lot of the times the hitter might be tracking pitches or working on several things.
This weekend is when ARod should be looking for results and getting his
timing improved.
For me, I think the Yankees have to put him at the DH slot for the rest of his career, pending he has any career left that is. I don't get, unless they want him to stay hurt, why they are trying to get anything out of him at 3rd and adding that wear and tear on him. I'd focus everything on getting whatever they can out of his bat and get someone else for 3rd.
I'm hoping he contributes to the season if he is allowed and able to play but I just don't see it.
