Calvaire ("The Ordeal" - 2004) - 7/10.

Fucked-up French movie with one of the creepiest, realistic premises ever, great acting and some decent gore. Most importantly, it has a cameo by Brigitte Lahaie, who's somehow still kind of pretty even though she's probably 95 years old.

A French film made by a Polish director, Krzysztof Kieślowski.

My favorite of the Three Colors trilogy. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

I friggin' blame Richard Roper for me renting this mess.
If Real Steel was basically Over The Top with Robots, then Black Rock is basically Surviving the Game and/or Southern Comfort with chicks.... only not as good.

Almost too normal for a Buñuel film, but the two actresses in the one main role are a nice touch. It also helps that they're both hot and get their ass kicked.

I haven't seen this yet, but I find Buñuel's career to be fascinating. I loved his early films.

I just finished the Brothers Quay film, 'The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes', for the third time.



Each viewing has found me liking it more and more. I wish they'd make more feature length films.

A Viking Saga: The Darkest Day: 4/10
I'm not sure why this movie failed. The acting was fine. The story was OK. But it just never took off. It was so... quiet, I guess. Viking movies shouldn't be quiet.
