If I was an NFL owner I would take RG3 over ROMO in a heart beat.
If I was a fantasy owner I'd pick Romo for a couple more weeks.

Naw, Romo is good for the fantasy shit. He has had solid "stats" the past few years for that..
I would keep Romo on my roster all season for fantasy shit...
Unfortunately, he is also the QB of my team and like it has been said, we Cowboys fans are stuck with him.
Not really anything to argue about after week 1. lol..
Just glad the Cowboys are 1-0.. Makes my Mondays better.

Fuuuuck you too, Haslett.
Chip Kelly's offense steals the show from RG3's return
"No one knew what to expect from Kelly, least of all Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, who did as much homework as possible.
"I've watched 23, 24 (University of) Oregon films," Haslett said last week, referring to Kelly's college coaching career. "I watched what (the Eagles) did in preseason. If they can do anything else, God bless 'em."
Turns out, Kelly had plenty of magic up his sleeve."

NFL Fantastyers are ruining the fucking game.
I don't give a shit that you have some guy I've never heard of on your roster. I don't care about your goddamn league or your friend in Tuscon who has some special teamer he is starting tonight.
It's getting impossible to even tell if the drunk cretin at the bar is an Eagles fan or is just starting McCoy.
Fantasy is destroying the game! It's causing hardcore NFL fans to abandon the game, just like spearing penalties!!!

I don't see the point.
I have friends who are huge fans of different teams and they get so upset when they have to cheer on a player who reps a team they dislike.

Every single fantasy owner at one point or another roots against his favorite football team.
I just don't get the appeal. Many claim it's about the money but the stakes in most leagues are really low.
Root against my own team and ruin all of my productivity at work so I can come in 3rd and win $150 on a $50 investment?

Re: The NFL Thread
That is simply not true. I've been in a bragging rights fantasy league for years and Ive never once rooted against my team for a fantasy score. I doubt anybody else in my league has either. It's just not that important. I don't get pissed when my fantasy team loses. It's, "Eh, whatever." It's a completely different emotional response when my actual team loses.Crazy Levi wrote:Every single fantasy owner at one point or another roots against his favorite football team

I play fantasy FB and BB and I can say without a doubt I'm ECSTATIC that Machado doesn't play. Levi, I think you'd like it if you tried it. You don't have to root against your team (that's kind of ridiculous, honestly) and it gives you somewhat of an interest in games you normally wouldn't care about.

Re: The NFL Thread
Same here. I draft. I tweak my roster every Sunday (occasionally on Thursday or Monday) and let ESPN do all of the work. I don't even check my Fantasy scores until after I've watched "my" Browns. It doesn't interfere at all. It keeps me interested in games I otherwise wouldn't care about and gives something fun to discuss at work in the morning or at lunch. There's a small cash payout at the end. That is all.bane wrote:That is simply not true. A team doesn't have to win for a player to do well in fantasy football. RGIII still scored 20 points in FF despite the Redskins losing. The Lions won, but Calvin Johnson only got 3 points.

Re: The NFL Thread
I'm going to say this once and I am not going to argue with anyone. Everyone already has their minds made up.
Suh was aiming for the chest of Simpson, he just started the tackle way to early and ended up hitting him low. I've watched the footage frame by frame. He was just trying to react to the situation and there was not even enough time to see how far behind Simpson was.
I think 3/4 of the regular posters in this thread play the Lions this year and a few play them twice every year, so of course everyone's going to want him suspended.
He has done some really stupid shit in the past and with this being a new rule the NFL wants to show they are serious so he got the fine. I can accept that. If the man shakes hands with Michael Vick after their game, the next days headline will read "Suh supports animal abuse"
I really believe he is trying to clean up his act. I also realize being a Lions fan that even when looking at things objectively, personal bias comes into play.

Re: The NFL Thread
I think if the league disagreed with your assessment, he would have been suspended. That doesn't make him any less of a thug. He's done more than enough in the past to warrant the extra attention and every time the apologists come out and defend his actions. I predict he'll still be suspended at some point this season. He'll cry foul and say he's being unfairly persecuted then too. The guy just can't help himself.

They've been replaying all of Suh's so called dirty plays and half of them I don't have a problem with. His leg flinging around into the balls of another player? Making a rough sack? Try teaching a huge stupid lineman to block down field while running but they can only aim for one spot on the chest without using your helmet. I gave him points for hustle alone.
But it's more me, the game has changed and I prefer it tougher, the way it was and the way we played.

Wow. The whole point of the new rule Suh was flagged for is pretty simple. If you aren't in front of the guy you are going to block, you don't go low. He wasn't in a position to make a legal block. All he had to do was push that guy's shoulder. He wasn't about to make a tackle anyway.UtahRatt wrote:sin wrote:

These players are way bigger and faster than "back in the day". If the rules stayed the way they were, there would be dead bodies out there. I'm not for pussifying the game any more than it already is, but let's be realistic.

He must be doing something wrong out there on the field to earn
that much in fines.
The block was a cheap shot. No lineman wants to be cut at the legs while running down field.
If the roles were reversed, you can bet the Lions and Suh would be crying foul over that block.

The giants players clearly was not injured and of course the dumb refs
could not recognize a legit injury from a bogus injury.
Any player that fakes an injury should be subject to ejection. Plain and simple. That will be the only deterrent the league needs to completely stop the
senseless process.
Hell, yesterday, I saw Jordy Nelson get hurt, the trainers ran out there, checked him out, and he stayed in the game and played. I thought you had to miss a play if the trainers came out to attend to you.
Does anybody remember that?
As soon as 1 player noticed someone else went down, that player immediately rose to his feet and no longer appeared injured.

Re: The NFL Thread
No D lineman wants to be chop blocked either while engaged with another blocker, but it happens all the time. Do they get $100,000 fines & called dirty players? Suh was hustling, his big ass running full speed down the field trying to block anyone heading towards the ball is planted in his brain. If the play was over the other lineman wouldn't have been running down either. It's WHISTLE TO WHISTLE and Shu's dive was still in front towards the chest but his slow ass wasn't going to hit a moving target in the chest. "side, front, same to me if you catch thigh"
I picture that play happening in game time, running full speed, fatigued, adrenalin pumped and looking through a mask.....Not on slo-mo replay. In reality if Shu was a DB he'd have the speed to catch up and slow the blocker down with arms but Shu don't have the speed....And he's a stupid lineman who runs on all adrenalin.
Funny part: Watching Tony Dungy on ESPN saying Shu plays dirty and now teams will show tape and put an X on Shu too pay him back.....Ya that's not dirty either.
