Well, I do know why: it's that Adam Lambert-esque showboating over-the-top thing, that people think is Freddie Mercury-esque, but he always did it with a wink in the eye and (I think) understood it was ridiculous, at times.
Although he has a good voice, Changes wasn't meant to be oversung or turned into a bombastic singalong -- it's power is in how subdued and sad it was. Arranging it that way shows he doesn't have a clue about it.

Glad Ozzy got the attention he deserved, but when they cut to 20 year old chicks in the audience and these other vacuous people, I don't think they have a clue. And there is some part of me, as a bona fide metalhead, that doesn't like phonies jumping on the Ozzy bandwagon.

Steven Tyler sounded OK.
Nuno as always sounded great.

I'm not sure how it's a nail in the coffin of rock & roll considering MTV didn't even have to acknowledge Ozzy at all. Had MTV not done that tribute, people would bitch about MTV ignoring Ozzy. Some people can't be happy about anything.

Steve Tyler , Joe Perry, Nuno - although great musicians - are the wrong choice to cover Ozzy . I never understood why Tyler and Sammy were asked to perform at Ozzy’s farewell either . They were not influenced by Ozzy and nothing they have recorded in their career has ever been close to the musical ballpark of Ozzy or Sabbath.

Ozzy is METAL . And none of the guys on stage are METAL. This performance was a joke !

A rock legend gets a proper tribute on MTV with an artist who actually appeals to Gen Z and introduces the genre to the younger audience.

But, look, if I was a marketing executive or interested in furthering the "brand" of Metallica or Ozzy, I wouldn't be such a cunt about it.
It's more about being genuine and authentic, rather than a fucking trendy poser.

for instance, I was dating this cute redhead chick with big tits who loved wearing vintage T-shirts like Bowie and others, whom she knew NOTHING about: it was the vintage T-shirt idea, and the cool kids were wearing it, so she felt compelled to as well.
I found it annoying. Not annoying enough to stop fucking her, mind you. But her phoniness grated on me. And -- once I had indulged in sufficient tit fucking -- I had to let her go because of my (understandable) intolerance of vintage t-shirt wearing fucks.

That said, I do agree that if some clueless dickhead is wearing a Dio shirt, and it gets some other kid to go explore and genuinely appreciate Dio (provided he goes no further than Last in Line), then there some good outcome of it. But we still shouldn't support it.

Yungblud's vocals sound real thin. Like he doesn't have much range and they won't age well if he does the screamo thing. I give him props for having the Bas headbang, shirtless Axl primping and semi-chaotic stage presence, combined with the Tyler wailing. He may be a poser but if this brings some fricking soul to the antiseptic music scene of Gen z, that's cool. No tapes allowed!

My goodness, Nuno is golden guitarist we should all cherish. If he can inspire this Gen to come back to the guitar, there's hope. He's the very best there is right now. Simply amazing.

Tyler ripping that at nearly age 80 is also remarkable. Be happy that MTV gave enough s#it to do it and not ignore him like they did EVH. That was a disgrace.
